Week of Progress

Okay, I decided the only way to remedy my homesickness was to hit the ground running. So here a few projects from last week.

I FINALLY organized my closet. It's a pretty big space and I was so excited to have a real walk in, but I think I was initially overwhelmed and it never became what I wanted it to be. It took all week but it feels so good to walk into an organized closet! This is my favorite part (below). I can actually SEE all my accessories. I even rediscovered some great pieces that were hidden away in their boxes. So happy about it.

I actually managed to cook a few times this week. My infant has become a bit of a roly poly and is no longer content just swinging in his chair for an hour while I cook every night. I'm looking into some alternatives that will allow him to be happy and safe in the kitchen with me, but in the meantime I made a few quick, delicious meals.

Today I finished some painting. A chevron wall has been on my decorating wish list for a while, and to be honest, I really didn't think I would have the time or patience to ever complete that task. But after I lot of measuring, pencil marking, remarking, leveling, and waded up pieces of tape I ended up with this!

I kind of love it :)

Feeling motivated! What projects do you have going?

  1. Wow! That wall is awesome! And, those meals look great! I am still trying to finish curtains from three years ago. Oops! My goal is to finish them this summer. I also need to finish tiling around my fireplace to bring it up to the 21st century. And, I feel the same way about my closet. It's an old bedroom renovated into the master closet. I need more stuff to get it organized! :) Thanks for blogging, and I really can't wait to meet your little man, he is so precious!

    1. After I pushed through the "worse before better" stage of the closet it got much easier. Getting started is so hard! Hopefully you can meet Eli soon!

  2. WHAT that wall is awesome!! Is that in your room? Man on man, I'm so impressed! I like the cork boards in your closet, they've given me lots of ideas for where I could put them :) All the food looks divine, of course. You are superwoman!

  3. I'm totally blown away (and totally jealous!) by that wall. Amazing! With an infant at home?? Just, wow. Well, I've lived in my house for almost 2 years now, and still have temporary paper blinds in the guest room and bathroom. :( So that's top of my list I guess! But I also desperately need to organize the guest (i.e. "junk") room, and would like to make the basement more functional.

  5. Ho-Lee-Crap, I can't believe that wall! I don't have the patience to paint a solid one-color wall, much less straight lines!
